Wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid and Botox

Botox and hyaluronic acid are the two agents most often used against wrinkles – both deliver first-class results. Which one is right depends on the wrinkles to be treated: they work differently and have different areas of application.

Microneedling for fresh facial skin

Needling stimulates collagen and relies purely on the skin's own healing process: repair of the upper skin layer, stimulation of collagen and vessel formation, and the release of the body's own growth factors. The result is visibly firmer skin.

PRP therapy for hair loss

Platelet-rich plasma obtained from your own blood is injected into the affected areas of the scalp. PRP strengthens the hair roots and supports cell regeneration. The effect is not sufficiently proven by studies and is discussed controversially – yet it is used successfully with many patients.

Lip treatment with hyaluronic acid

With age the lips become thinner and fine lines form around the mouth. Special hyaluronic acids can emphasise the contour and restore lost volume without the lips looking unnaturally full.

Injection lipolysis (fat-dissolving injection)

Michelangelo PDC Plus Complex© is a soybean extract with 5% phosphatidylcholine and 2.4% deoxycholate. It is used to treat local fat deposits – double chin, abdomen, hips and lipomas.

Weight counselling in menopause and after birth

Hormonal changes often slow the metabolism and change fat distribution. A balanced diet and regular exercise are decisive. Individual counselling helps to master these phases and build lasting habits.

3-week weight reduction and gut cleansing programme

I offer a 3-week weight reduction and gut cleansing programme, also highly recommended for irritable bowel problems. The complete programme includes a blood test (thyroid, vitamins and hormones), a physical examination including ECG and a unique gut cleansing programme with natural substances plus guidance on preparing gut-friendly smoothies and soups – including monitoring and weekly consultations.

Only branded products from Merz and Galderma are used (Restylane®, Belotero® and Bocouture®). Aesthetic treatments are subject to VAT, so I have to charge 21% IVA. For several treatments or several people there are attractive discounts – feel free to ask.

Philosophy

Less is often more – and naturalness comes first

Years ago I noticed my first wrinkles – they had surely been there for a while, but suddenly they bothered me. A former fellow student offered to 'pimp me up', and so the first Botox went into my frown line and forehead, and shortly after the first hyaluronic acid into the fine lines around my mouth and nose and into my lips. Suddenly I looked more relaxed and fresher. What mattered to me was to help just a little, to soften my age.

With my work I want to counteract gravity and firm the facial features. In men I want to emphasise the distinctive chin area and give the skin a youthful freshness. Younger women and men can benefit too: there are numerous procedures that activate collagen production, keeping the skin elastic for longer and slowing the ageing process.

Barbara Wenzel

Specialist in general medicine

I was born in Berlin in 1965, am married and have 3 children. In November 1993 I completed my medical studies at the Freie Universität Berlin. After numerous training stages in internal medicine, paediatrics, surgery, orthopaedics and rheumatology, in August 2010 I passed the examination as a specialist in internal and general medicine before the Brandenburg Medical Association. From January 2011 to December 2021 I ran a family practice in Berlin.
